Juan Carles Alonso, QA Manager in Product: 10 years work anniversary at adnovation

Juan Carles works within the Quality Assurance team. Let’s hear about his experience and words of wisdom after celebrating 10 years work anniversary at adnovation!

Q: Congratulations on celebrating your 10 years work anniversary at adnovation! What has been your biggest “lesson learned” in these 10 years?

Thanks! The past 10 years I developed my abilities to manage my day-to-day tasks quickly and efficiently, along with my team. I have assimilated the motto: Don't expect to have a finished product on the first try. The work has to be done in stages, developing different versions that will slowly result in the final product. Otherwise you will never launch anything because it will never be as you first imagined it. I have permanently incorporated the word "improvements" in my life. Working at adnovation has allowed me to improve my personal and professional skills, especially it has given me the opportunity to be more self-critical and also critical of our work, always in a proactive way, bringing constructive feedback and improving projects.

Miguel Escribá, Lead Content Editor: 10 years of work at the Digital Entertainment Factory

Miguel, who works within the Design team, celebrated his 10 years work anniversary at adnovation in 2023, and he is happy to have observed noticeable personal and professional growth over the past decade.

Q: Do you have any tips on how to become a Lead Content Editor in digital marketing? What are a few ways in which working at adnovation helped you grow over the years?

Honestly, make sure that you learn as much as possible from your peers so that you feel supported and can grow within your team. This is how you When I joined, I had hardly any experience in the industry. Feeling supported by colleagues, managers, and bosses helped me to feel calm and learn everything I needed to. adnovation is a company with employee training programs, and the infrastructure offered by adnovation to continuously train was also key. A few years later down the line, feeling that my work is valued and that adnovation continues to help me grow professionally is a constant motivation to keep making an effort and enjoying my work. At a more personal level, since I started working here, the improvements on company benefits have been constant. They are an incredible help to combine our personal and professional life. Lastly, the HR department is always there when you need help. The support I felt when my daughter was born two years ago or at some moment of illness has always been incredible. I can confidently say that I work for a great employee wellbeing focused digital entertainment company!

Luis Alfonso Mateu, Software Developer: Experiencing professional growth in online entertainment creation

Luis works in the Development team in adnovation, and he too celebrated 10 years of work at the digital entertainment factory, an employee wellbeing focused digital entertainment company!

Q: What are a few ways in which you have grown with adnovation over the years? 

I am so proud that last year, I celebrated my 10 years work anniversary at adnovation! During my time at adnovation, I have had the opportunity to develop many of my professional skills, thanks to being at a company with employee training program infrastructure. From technical knowledge related to the area of programming, to communication and problem- solving skills. The experience gained during all these years and the collaboration with coworkers has allowed me to constantly improve my knowledge in my area of work. The evolution of my job in the last 10 years has been very significant and has reflected many changes and advances in the working and technological environment. For instance, we have gone from programming in plain PHP to using frameworks such as Symfony, or tools such as PHPSpec, which together with the use of the PHPStorm IDE makes our day-to-day work much easier.

Guillermo Martinez, Head of Marketing: Employee benefits in digital content creation

Guille, from the Marketing department, has just celebrated 10 years work anniversary at adnovation as the Head of Marketing!

Q: What has been your biggest “lesson learned” in these 10 years?

The most valuable lesson I have learned in 10 years is that we are in a rapidly changing industry,  much more volatile than I ever imagined. During these years we have been in and out of the mobile app business, testing its different variants, from focusing on one single entertainment market to opening up in all kinds of verticals for all audiences, even a language e-Learning platform and a eSports Portal! We have launched new business lines and new forms of payment. All with marketing and media buying strategies that force us to change quickly and overcome the challenges that arise every year. Of course, all this required us to adapt our systems and our workflow. To summarize, we live in an increasingly liquid and changing environment, where nothing lasts forever and change is the only constant!

Jose Cantera, Head of Development: Working at an employee wellbeing focused digital entertainment company

Jose works as Head of Development in adnovation, and he has just recently celebrated his 10 years work anniversary at adnovation.

Q: How has your job role evolved during the past 10 years?

During this past decade, I have gradually moved from a technical role developing code to more managerial roles. This professional progression has happened thanks to the support that adnovation has given me to jump between different positions and assume new responsibilities. I remember my first line of code in PHP added to a project. Looking back years later I would do it entirely differently! :) This is because my team hasn’t stopped growing and evolving towards developing cleaner and higher quality code. There has also been a lot of improvement in task management, as we adopted task management systems, increasing efficiency. Lastly, an important improvement was introducing remote work. We all had to adapt at first, but teleworking ended up being a great permanent benefit.

Toni Reus, UI/UX Frontend designer: 10 years at an online entertainment company with employee training program geared for success!

Q: What aspect of working at adnovation have you enjoyed the most during 10 years of work at the digital entertainment factory? Would you say it is a digital content company with a positive work environment?

Absolutely! Throughout these past ten years, adnovation has experienced a notable evolution, and this is how I got to develop my skills as a frontend designer. My career as a designer has been a dynamic and varied journey, ranging from video editing to web design, even some offline design projects. This variety has allowed me to perfect my creative ability, improve as a professional and adapt my learning to different work methods. I have been lucky to collaborate with professionals who understand my vision, and also contribute to generating a collaborative and enriching work environment, where I have always felt fully integrated. Lastly, adnovation has introduced some great benefits over the years. The greater work flexibility reflects a commitment to promote employee well-being, which I deeply value and has allowed me to balance my professional and personal life more efficiently. Thanks to all of this support, I got to really develop my skills as a frontend designer throughout the years.
